RDMX ILLUSTRATION DESIGNS

I was tasked with creating badges for a small social media platform, with close similarily to Twitter and Tumblr. The main focus was to create the existing neutral website into something warmer, and something fun that would bring new users.

The idea of badges under one’s profile was then established, which would reward users with unique badge designs- similary to Steam. These badges would be given to an inventory, and displayed to all the users on the website: a cool and cute collectable which would bring competition between the users.

Badges were then quickly rewarded for people participating in events across the entire platform. The latest event was the Valentines event, where I designed a unique cassette for every active member based on their personality, and then they had the option to give that cassette to someone else anonymously. This event gave me a challenge having to create so many designs in such a short period of time, ensuring they all reflected the user but also looked visually appealing.

RDMX also needed new default profile pictures when members joined the website. I was given an ocean theme, and created several designs of different sea creatures to try and bring some more colour to the website.

I quickly took on the role of the website’s “artist”, and continue to create more badges and bring ideas for events and future features to keep the website more engaging.
